IF I HAD BEEN AT CALVARY
Ken Reedy

If I had been at Calvary
On that sin-darkened day,
Would I have waited as I did
To let God have His way?
If on that mount that day I stood
And saw God's blood-bought call,
Would I have waited quite so long
To give to Him my all?
If I had been at Calvary
And seen His thorn-crown head,
Would I have offered up myself
To die for Him instead?
Can I remember Calvary
And Christ upon the tree,
And not praise my God forever
For the love He has for me?
Yea, to the Christ of Calvary
One day by faith I came;
Praise God He did receive me,
And life's not been the same.
His keeping pow'r this day I know,
And I know it's for my best
That he keeps me safe at Calvary
Where I have eternal rest.
